Drawing in Grey Tones

Another season of drawing and painting begins , it is good to get into practice at the life drawing group I belong to in Cambridge UK.I drew this in the style used by Seurat using grey tones only through black to white.

Aldeburgh is a charming ,unspoilt fishing village on the east coast of England.The beach is a clean sweep of shingle against the cold, tidal ocean and big Suffolk sky.Fishing boats and fish smoking huts are active as are the cheeky seagulls.

PICCADILLY CIRCUS ,LONDON

Visiting  London this week was hard work with the humidity and heat .The buildings and  traffic  were almost overwhelming though tourists sitting on the statue of Eros seem to be enjoying themselves.

A lot of attention has been given by TV programmes  and the press to the validity of some recently discovered works by LS Lowry, the artist from Salford known for painting scenes and  and people from every day working lives.These little paintings are in the style of LS Lowry, and fit well into the modern home.
