STUFFING THE TURKEY

Thanksgiving or Christmas there are some jobs we cannot escape .I remember  when ancient aunties would come to help prepare the turkey  with stuffing made from scratch-- home prepared breadcrumbs and herbs from their gardens, suet , seasoning and sausage meat.
A warm kitchen full of bustling women ,delicious aromas and a thieving dog hanging around.
No packets,frozen or ready prepared stuff available then.A  childhood memory,I still love the scent of thyme.

LET IT SNOW

As soon as it starts to snow children hope it will be deep enough to get the sledge out , build snow men and have snow ball fights.A favourite place for these activities is  a steep hill known as Castle Mound in Cambridge.
